June inspiration by Jennifer Jacques

Hello Blue Fern fans!
Jennifer here for June inspirations.
2 layouts with the new Tattered walls collection and another one with previous release.

So, I will start today with a layout about my brother's first Spartan Race.

I've start this layout by simply add some ink through a stencil on my background,
which is The maid's room
Used a lot of new assorted ephemeras to built my focus point.
Numbers are cut out from In the garage paper.

Then' I've finish this first layout bu adding some flowers from my own stash, flairs, enamel dots and some dimensional black paint drops.

Really love that Blue Fern Studios now have ephemeras to complete our layouts :)

For my second layout, it was also the Tattered Walls collection that have inspired me.  And my boyfriend gave me a challenge: using a Cercei's picture from Games of Thrones.

So let's start with it!

Here I've start with clear gesso on my background paper: Powder room (b-side)
Then, some sprays to add watercolors, some modeling paste with a stencil and some random stamping with differents Blue Fern Studios stamps.  Above, you can easily see the Tattered Newsprint stamp.  Under, Penned flourishes stamp.

You can see  an Opulence and Elegant Flourish chipboards,
embossed with the new Sparkling navy embossing powder.
I'm glad that the Spring Peony matches my layout this well.  They surrounded my picture very nicely.

Spring blooms and a summer bloom complete my flowers clusterings.

Here again, ephemeras helped me a lot to build my focus point.
Finish with my usual paint splatters and that was it!

Finally, with the only Déjà Vu paper that I had in my stash:  Lustre :)

Here again, clear gesso, pearl modeling paste through a stencil.
I have painted all my frame chipboards
(Glam frame, Embellished frame, and one from Classic Mini frames set)
in white and then stamped with an Halftone stamp on them.

For my title, I used 2 different embossing powdersSparkling navy and then, Lavender eggs.

A few Blue Fern Studios flowers here and there mixed with some others from my stash.

Above, the white one from Spring blooms
Under, the yellow one from Fresh florals, same as under my title :)

Really love how it goes all together :)

April Inspiration - Joanne Bain

Hi Everyone!!

Joanne here with you today to share a couple of layouts and a tutorial using gorgeous Blue Fern products.

For my first layout I mixed and matched collections. I have used papers from Amber & Apricot, Wanderlust and Seaside Cottage. I amazes me how beautifully the collections mix and match.

'My Loves'

So for this page was created with lots of fussy cut images from the different papers to create the dimensional cluster. The birds, brown leaves and yellow roses were cut from Birdsong and Sunny Deposition papers from the Amber And Apricot collection.

To get the fussy cut rose to blend into the paper I used the Penned Flourishes stamp and stamped a little more over the papers edge with black ink. It helped to blend it in perfectly.

In between each layer I added folded flowers and shredded cheesecloth to add extra interest and texture.

The frame around the top of my photo was cut from the In the Mood chipboard sheet and covered with some of the Seaside Cottage Mermaid patterned paper.

For my second layout I chose to go back to a favourite of mine white background. I chose to add fussy cut layers and add some of the Blue Fern mixed media ingredients. I have also created a step by step tutorail so maybe you can try your own or put your own spin on it.

'My Inspiration'

To create the main cluster I started by fussy cutting the flourishes from the Garden Life Morning Dew patterned paper.

In between each of the fussy cut layers I added a mixture of flowers and frayed cheesecloth. The background was created with a mixture of mica powders and paints. As I like my clusters to be tight I only allowed a little of the colour to show from behind.

In the background I also added Blue Fern seedlings and glitters. The main flower is one of the gorgeous white roses from the Garden Blooms set which was recoloured to coordinate with layout.

For the title I cut down the Blue Fern You Are My Inspiration chipboard title to just my inspiration bcause that is what my children are. All chipboard was left entirely raw.

And here is my tutorial, I hope you enjoy it.

Jessica - March Inspirations

"Adorable"

Hi everyone!  My first project I would like to share with you is titled "Adorable".  This is my grandpa's picture of Shirley Temple when he was stationed at Hawaii.  I used the Memoires Collection paper for my background along with the Photographic Record paper and Calling Cards paper to layer behind the photograph.

I sprinkled Twig seedlings over matte gel and a stencil.  Here you can also see that I used two pieces of Lace 12 behind the photo and the paper layers.

The long chipboard piece is the Destiny Collage chipboard that I originally embossed with Black Gold embossing powder for a different project but changed my mind (lol).  So over that embossing powder, I embossed the chipboard with Pure Red and Seven Seas embossing powders.  Using the Crackle Textures stamp, I embossed the areas with Ivory embossing powder.

For the Adorable chipboard title and the Bits of Honey chipboard pieces, I used brown distress ink to color the pieces then used the Crackle Textures stamp with Dark Chocolate embossing powder over areas of the chipboard.  The small blue flowers are from the Chesterville Blooms set.  In several areas around the page, I sprinkled a bit of Russett glitter and Blue Ice glitter over matte gel.

And finally, you can see a close-up of the Bits of Honey chipboard and the piece of Lace 12.

Here is the list of products I used:

"In the Mood"

For my second project this month I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried a shabby chic canvas.  I used a ton of Blue Fern Studios products from this collection for the canvas!

The main heart on the canvas is the Blissful paper from the In the Mood Collection.  The red frame and black heart to the top left of the canvas are Printed Chipboard pieces from the In the Mood Collection.  The design on the black heart is the Penned Flourishes stamp embossed with Pure Red embossing powder.

Lace 3B is the black lace that I embossed with Black & Gold embossing powder.  The circle floral frame was also embossed with the Black & Gold embossing powder.  Lace 12 is at the top left of the canvas and very elegant.

Beating Heart and Gold Nugget seedlings were applied with matte gel over some cheesecloth.  I used a stencil with glass bead gel to the top left side of the canvas then sprinkled some Mocha glitter over the design.

The large white rose in the center of the cluster is from the Garden Blooms set, while the pink flowers are from the Moody Florals set.

To fill in spots on my canvas I used some old roses from my stash and put gesso on the tips and sprinkled with Rose Gold glitter.

Here are the products I used:

Mocha

"Perfect"

My final project this month is a very basic layout using some of the the In the Mood Collection along with other collections.  The background paper is Amused from the In the Mood Collection.  I created the background with modeling paste, stencil, and black spray stain.  Then I stamped it with the Tattered Newsprint stamp.

The two white roses are from the Garden Blooms set and the other flowers are from the Apricot Blooms set.  For each flower on the page, I used matte gel on the tips of the flowers and sprinkled Mocha glitter on the tips.  For the Apricot Blooms, I removed the flower stamens and replaced them with a pearl using matte medium then sprinkled Gold Nugget seedlings around the pearls.

To go along with the glitter theme, I used Black & Gold embossing powder as part of the matting behind the photo.  Under the picture the Lace 10 adds a nice soft touch to the layout.

The Lattice Panel chipboard and Perfect chipboard title were first coated in gesso, then I painted them with a very concentrated white acrylic paint.  Finally, I used the Crackle Textures stamp with Coral embossing powder to add interest to the chipboard.

Here are the products I used for this layout:

Paper:
In the Mood - Amused

Glitter:
Mocha

Chipboard:
Lattice Panel
Perfect

Embossing Powder:
Black & Gold
Coral

Seedlings:
Gold Nugget

Flowers:
