and a layout using Serendipity collection today!

【Fairy Tale】

This Courtship Lane collection works for the feeling that purple has good!

It is a flower of this Courtship Lane collection which purple and a pink flower release from Blue Fern Studios
As size is just right, it is easy to use it.

After the cardboard did emboss in Pearl
I attached MYSTIC PLUM glitter here and there.
It is the color that this glitter is beautiful!

I painted title cardboard with the Opal white of the liquid pearl.

This Green used emboss powder (VERDANT).
This color is a calm good feeling, too.

Blue Fern Studios is apt to look elegant by all means.
But I made it so that such a casual photographs were put together
as there was not only such a photograph which fitted elegantly.

This cardboard did emboss in emboss powder (Oatmeal).
Yellow-green of the leaves is also embossing powder (LIME).

February Inspiration with Jelissa

Hello friends!

We've moved into the second month of 2016, and things are happening fast at home! For those in the northern hemisphere, I hope your days are getting warmer too. And those down under, keep chilling!

I'm up on the blog today to share two creations using the amazing Blush collection. I love this line of papers because of the sweet colors and it's also just perfect for scrapping photos of any kind, not only for Valentine's Day.

First to show you is this layout of my husband and me. I hardly ever scrap our photos because I'm camera shy and the husband is a selfie addict with our kids. But this photo is just perfect for the papers so I couldn't resist.

My background paper is "Enamored" - and it truly fits the name! Love the B side so much that I've designed a  workshop just around it. The details and subtle masking makes it perfect for mixed media projects that carry a light touch, which is exactly what I have done here.

Some close-ups:

I used the stamps from Romantic Accents set together with Icicle embossing powder (these two are a perfect match) and created a detail resist over which I painted. You can see that I've used translucent water colors to preserve as much of the background paper as I can.

A lot of fussy cut details under my Flutter Medley chipboard - which I had embossed using Icicle EP and Textured Circle stamp.

Layering the different scraps of papers and journaling cards behind the sweet little girl I've cut out.

The other end of the Flutter Medley chipboard.

My title piece from Clip Frames which I first embossed all over with Oatmeal EP, then using the same stamp, added on another layer of Cerulean EP.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

Imagine Ink Embossing Powder - Icicle, Oatmeal, Cerulean
Blush collection papers - Enamoured, Calling Cards, Cupid's Folly, Celebration
Chipboard - Flutter Medley, Clip Frames
Stamp - Textured Circles, Romantic Accents

My second share is one of my little girl and her dad. I've gone for a brighter look because these two were having such a delightful time together playing.

Some close-ups:

My title - Daddy's Little Girl. This is quite a big piece and so I didn't follow conventional ways of placing titles (ie. under or next to photo) but choose to give it its own space above the photo.

Some background detail created with the Key to My Heart stamp and embossing powder.

Rose Medley chipboard altered with water colors, mist and embossing powder.

Layering behind the chipboard.

My must-have floral cluster.

And below is how I put this layout together. Sit back and enjoy the video tutorial!

Blue Fern Studios products used:

Imagine Ink embossing powder - Icicle, Pearl, Raspberry, Cotton Candy
Blush collection papers - Calling Cards, Key to My Heart, Devoted, Celebration
Chipboard - Daddy's Little Girl, Rose Medley
Stamp - Textured Circles, Key to My Heart

Two Layouts and a Card with Rae

Hello, everyone! It's Rae with you today to share some projects I've made this month.

"Wonder" Card

For this card, I used a couple of sheets of paper of the Blue Fern Garden line, Parlour and Timeless. I used a light brown distress ink to give it the aged look.

In this closeup, you can see the four pieces of chipboard I used, each treated in a different way.
The bird is from the "Little Birds" set is simply colored with brown archival ink. The title, "Wonder" from "Winter Titles" set was primed with white paint, then I randomly placed light blue embossing powder so some of the white would show through, then I lightly covered the whole piece with a light brown distress ink. The foliage peeking out under the flowers are remnants I had form some "Layering Stems" that painted white and lightly misted with an olive green mist.

For the "Majestic Frame," I covered the whole piece with an embossing medium and sprinkled brown, gold, and blue embossing powders. I repeated the process three times to get nice coverage.

"Cherish" Layout

For this layout, I used papers from the Ombre Dreams collection, along with some green cardstock.

I used the "Blue Fern Frame" for the focus of my design. I treated this piece by spraying it with a brown mist, letting it dry, then tracing the details with dimensional paint to create a look somewhat reminiscent of a gilded metal look. I finished the look by spraying the whole piece again with the brown spray to get into the little crevices of the dimensional paint.

I used green dimensional paint and poured purple and coral embossing powders over the entire "Cherish" piece while the paint was still wet. Then, I used a heat tool, and overdid it so the paint would bubble up for this dimensional distressed look.

"Key to my Heart" Layout

I used papers from both the Blue Fern Garden and Ombre Dreams collections, picking out light blue and light brown tones, along with some cardstock.

In this closeup, you can see the paper that I stamped with a script stamp to alter the look of it.

I treated all of the pieces with gesso.  On the "Ket to my Heart" title and key, I used two shades of brown distress ink.

On the "Large Roman Clock Set" I used various distress and chalk inks.

For the "Wild Flourish Bundle" I sprayed it with an ivy mist to create drops, then used more light brown distress ink.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my projects today. Thanks for stopping by!
